I’m a southern girl rooted in my childhood in Memphis, TN. I studied fashion media and business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. I started my fashion blog, Sanford Standard, the spring of my sophomore year and haven’t looked back. After graduating in 2017, I was a personal wardrobe stylist for a Dallas startup. I married my husband, Henry, in May of 2021 and moved to the Chicago area so that he could attend business school at Kellogg. Throughout all the change over the last few years, Sanford Standard has been a consistent part of my self expression and weekly routine. As a bonus of this journey, I’ve gotten to collaborate with fabulous brands and individuals that make this industry so exciting.
Top 5 pieces:
Inez Dress in Tamariz Handblock Print: Everyone needs the perfect summer maxi dress, and here it is! I picture this with loose beachy waves, a denim jacket thrown over my shoulders and a neutral Castaner espadrille.
Rebecca Handbag: A rattan purse screams summer, so this will be my everyday bag for the rest of the season. Whether you’re at the beach or in the middle of a bustling city, it’s the perfect bag to carry your necessities.
Teresa Blouse in Jardim Hand Block Print: Blue and white are my go-to color combination, from my wedding suite, to the decor in my home and everything in between. This blouse will take you from casual daytime paired with denim cutoffs and your favorite sneaker to dinner out paired with a white jean and an espadrille wedge.
Priscilla Bow Sun Hat: This is a beach trip necessity - roll it up in your bag or suitcase and then bring it out when you arrive. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to wear my sun hat through the airport. Style it with your Marysia swimsuit, an Agua Bendita sarong and a pair of Tkees flip flops.
Fernanda Dress: You can create two totally different looks with this dress. Wear it belted with an espadrille and your Rebecca rattan purse for a fun brunch look. Chase the kids on the playground wearing this dress loose with a Golden Goose sneaker.
